Microfiber cloths are small but mighty. They trap dust, wipe away grime, and leave no streaks behind—which is why they’re one of our go-to tools at Queendom. But to keep them working their magic, they need a little TLC every now and then.
Here’s how to clean your microfiber cloths the right way—no fabric softener, no fuss.
First Things First: When Should You Wash Them?
If your cloth feels grimy, isn’t picking up like it used to, or has that musty smell? It’s time.
In general:
After each use for cleaning greasy or grimy areas (like kitchens).
Every few uses for lighter dusting or mirror wiping.
What You’ll Need:
Mild liquid laundry detergent
Warm or cold water (not hot!)
A mesh laundry bag (optional)
A washing machine (or bucket, if hand-washing)
Step-by-Step: Machine Washing Microfiber Cloths
Separate Them Out
Keep microfiber away from cotton, towels, or anything linty. Microfiber is clingy like that—it’ll pick up all the fuzz in your load.Use a Gentle Detergent
Avoid fabric softeners, bleach, or scented detergents. They coat the fibers and reduce that signature “grab.”Wash in Warm or Cold Water
Hot water can damage the fibers. Stick to warm or cold cycles.Skip the Dryer (or Use Low Heat)
High heat can shrink and ruin microfiber. Air-drying is best. If you must use the dryer, toss them in on low or no heat—with no dryer sheets.
Hand-Washing? Easy.
Fill a bucket or sink with warm water and a few drops of detergent.
Swish the cloths around, let them soak for 10–15 minutes.
Rinse thoroughly and wring out gently.
Hang dry.
Pro Tip from the Queendom Team
Only use clean microfiber on clean surfaces. A dirty cloth can smear, scratch, or leave streaks—basically the opposite of what you want.
